Did you know there are two types of condom – male condoms and female condoms? Also, aside from abstinence, other methods of contraception offer little or no protection against sexually transmitted infections. So they might be little but they sure are mighty!

To protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), you need to use male or female condoms for anal or vaginal sex, and either male condoms or dental dams for oral sex.

They can be used in addition to any other type of contraception, but you should never use two condoms together or a male and female condom at the same time as this can cause them to break.

Condoms also work to prevent pregnancy by creating a physical barrier to stop semen from the man's penis entering the vagina.
