Turn offs
Just as important as talking about what turns you on is talking about what turns you off.
Talking about sex beforehand will help you to get to know each other and can lead to better, safer sex.
Turn-offs
It's better to talk about turn-offs before you start having sex than having to deal with them during sex. Encountering a turn-off will at best dent your fun - or it could put you off entirely.
By talking about what you do and don't like, you'll get a much better idea of whether or not you're suited to one another. This could help you avoid ending up in bed with someone you'll regret sleeping with.
Don't worry that talking will take away the 'mystery of romance'. Quite the opposite in fact - talking about sex can be quite saucy, a good laugh, and can be a great way to get you both in the mood.
Serious turn-offs
Remember, everyone is different. But some things are an outright no-no that nobody should have to put up with.
Getting thrills from sexual violence, threats or intimidation is neither healthy nor normal and is most likely against the law.
When good relationships go bad
Good relationships rely on good communication. When communication breaks down, little problems can quickly become overwhelming.
Sometimes you can get into a rut of not really listening to each other and arguing lots. If this happens, it might be worth finding a bit of outside help.
